Obituary:
Mr. Ralph Edward Dinkel passed away on February 4, 2010 surrounded by his loving wife and family at his side. He was born on March 2, 1927 in Bloomingdale, MI, the son of Robert and Fern Dinkel. Ralph was the middle child between Paul, the oldest child and his little brother, Charlie. Ralph was a man of the road and drove a truck for 65 years. He started driving to Florida, to deliver produce for the Grand Rapids Farmer's Market. Ralph also hauled pumpkins, jet engines and everything in between, while having a story for every mile that he traveled. Ralph served in the United States Army, in the Korean war. He carries a North Korean Bullet in his leg. He rarely spoke about his heroic acts and always played himself down--never wanting to be the center of attention. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Stan Burland Jr.; a stepson, Norm Burland Jr.; a stepdaughter, Jeanne Seals (Burland) and a son-in-law, Anthony McQueen. Ralph is survived by his wife, Jeannine; 8 stepchildren and their spouses; 28 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
