Mrs. Blanche Mae Parker departed this life March 4, 2010 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Blanche was born October 26, 1936 in Okolona, Mississippi, to the late Houston and Juanita (Smith) Dunigan. She was a resident of Kalamazoo since 1940. Blanche accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. She was a faithful member of Greater Faith Ministries, and was a Mother of the church. Blanche graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1955. She worked as a dedicated employee at Bronson Methodist Hospital as a Pharmacy Technician for 38 years. Blanche was known as being a quiet, soft-spoken person, with a gentle spirit. She enjoyed being around her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Houston and Juanita Dunigan; and her brother, Cornelius Dunigan. Blanche is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Joseph Parker; two sons: Bryant Dunigan, Sr. and Terrance Parker; one daughter, Marcia Parker all of Kalamazoo, MI; six grandchildren: Shondale, Keith, Bryant Jr., Juanita, Indiasha and Martazia all of Kalamazoo, MI; two brothers: James (Jessie) Dunigan of Grand Rapids, MI; Clarence (Doris) Dunigan of California; adopted brother, Charles ("Charlie") Smith of West Virginia; also a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Blanche also leaves to cherish her memory, two special friends, Virginia Graham and Phyllis Gonder. Blanche is truly loved by many and her presence will surely be missed by family and friends.
