Mr. John Charles Heitz departed this life July 19, 2010. He was born April 13, 1977 in Kalamazoo, MI, the son of John Heitz. John completed his GED and went on to become an over-the-road truck driver and business owner. John met Camille Wareing his soul mate, in Colorado in 2002. They later married on October 31, 2008, in Kalamazoo, MI. John enjoyed spending quality time with his wife whether it was going jet skiing and boating or staying home watching movies and cuddling. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, working in the garage and "tinkering" around with anything mechanical. He had a great passion for motorcycles and golfing. John was a people-person, who enjoyed being around his friends. He was known to be close to his cell phone all day long making many calls to family and friends to stay connected to the people he cared about the most. John was a very hard-working and diligent person. He made sure he took time to get enough rest, because he was a truck driver and needed to be alert, so he was the nickname of "Sleepy". John was very active in many ways and had a quick wit. John was quite the jokester among his friends, making up nicknames for all of them! He was very competitive, especially stereo systems. He and his friends always tried to outdo each other with the biggest stereo system that could fit in their cars! He will truly be missed by all of his family and numerous friends. Preceding him in death when John was a teenager, was his father, John Heitz. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Camille Rene Heitz; his daughter, Kaitlyn Ann Thurman (Heitz); his mother of Kalamazoo, MI; 2 sisters: Minga Tala Bird; and Megan Alanna Alexander; grandparents: Charles and Dorothy Alexander of Richland, MI; a special uncle, William "Bill" Heitz, of California; his uncles, Scott Alexander of Richland, MI, and Mark Alexander of Portage, MI; and several other close family members. Also, many special close long-time friends.
